The Asixa team is proud to have lent a logistical hand to Oxfam in support of their 2014 Unwrapped campaign.

We were excited to volunteer our services for the charity, providing transport for quite an unconventional consignment: a three metre-high wooden goat.

Oxfam commissioned the building of the goat and stationed it in Federation Square in the last week of November to encourage people to put an Oxfam Unwrapped charity gift on their wish list this Christmas. The goat called Federation Square home for three days, prompting Australians to get creative for a cause this Christmas, and give a gift that benefits communities in need around the world.

Drawing buzz across Melbourne, onlookers flocked to Federation Square to catch a glimpse of the giant wooden goat, which aimed to remind people of the gifts that create a real difference – like a real goat, which is just one of the positive gifts people can gift to communities in need, via Oxfam, this Christmas.

Asixa happily put our hand up to transport the goat from its construction site at the Collingwood Men’s Shed to Federation Square, and to its new home thereafter. Weighing in at 600kg, it took our expert drivers and a 14 pallet rigid truck equipped with our fleet’s standard hydraulic tail-lift to transport.
